Pressure Grouting using Preplaced Aggregate
Preplaced aggregate concrete is different than conventional concrete as the name suggests. The typical concrete mix has the aggregate combined with the cementitious grout before application.
PAC or Preplaced Aggregate Cement techniques, place the aggregate in the forms first and then the cementitious grout is applied. There are several advantages to this procedure.
- Aggregate-to-cement ratio is maximized
- Material separation is avoided when placed -
especially in underwater forms
- No need for heavy equipment
